HVAC-R Service Offerings
Air Conditioning
In Texas, it gets HOT. Lawton services all makes, brands, and types. If your air conditioning system breaks, rest assured if it happens on weekdays, weekends, holidays or nights, our service technicians are on call 24 hours a day to take care of your needs. Proper sizing of air conditioning systems is extremely critical and we are experienced in knowing that one size does not fit all. Every building is unique with different characteristics that call for different design features. SEER ratings on air conditioning systems dictate the efficiency. The higher the rating, the less it costs to operate.
Heating
Gas, Electric, Heat Pumps and Boilers are the most popular ways to heat a building. A central furnace or boiler’s efficiency is measured by annual fuel utilization efficiency (AFUE). The Federal Trade Commission requires furnaces and boilers to have a sticker displayed so that the consumer can see the efficiency. The higher the AFUE rating, the less it costs to operate. Gas fired units should have the heat exchange inspected once a year before the heater starts for the Winter. This will ensure there are no cracks that can cause carbon monoxide poisoning.
Ventilation
Lawton knows how important proper ventilation is to the efficiency of your air conditioning and heating unit. Lawton has successfully completed ventilation projects in areas of Restaurants, City Buildings, Food Processing Plants, and Office Buildings.
Refrigeration
Lawton services and installs Walk-in Coolers, Walk-in Freezers, Ice Machines, and Reach-in Coolers. Our technicians are factory certified on many brands. To keep up with the fast changing equipment, our technicians complete continuing education classes each year.
HVAC-R Maintenance Program
Preventative Maintenance Agreements (PMAs) are agreements between building owners, managers, or facilities managers and Lawton Commercial Services for scheduled inspections and maintenance of your HVAC and refrigeration systems. Below are but a few of the benefits of having a PMA:
Dirt is the #1 cause of equipment failure.
Heating and cooling represents 33% of all energy used.
Proper maintenance can prolong the life of the equipment.
A 10-year old unit has lost 50% of its efficiency.
Fewer breakdowns of your equipment to help save you money.
PMA customers receive priority service.
You get a 10% discount on equipment repairs.
You get a 10% discount on equipment repairs.
One of our professionals will make a free site survey, assess the site, prepare a proposal, then visit with the person or persons overseeing the facilities. In most cases, PMAs are scheduled quarterly; however, Lawton can customize to fit any business needs such as monthly or semi-annual visits.
HVAC-R F.A.Q.
How many years can I expect to get from my Air Conditioner and Furnace?
About 10-12 years is normal in this part of Texas. This is a harsh climate, so regular maintenance is essential to get the most from your equipment. With current utility prices you should consider replacing sooner rather than later. Newer, higher efficiency equipment can help keep utility price increases down.
Can NEW Equipment really Save me Money on my Utility Bills?
Absolutely; by as much as 50%! At today’s utility prices it doesn’t take long to recover the cost of a new air conditioning and heating system. Call us at (972) 424-2929 to find out more.
What is SEER?
SEER stands for Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio. Think of it as similar to mileage ratings for cars and trucks – a higher number is better. For example, a 14 SEER rating unit will provide about 40% better efficiency than the 10 SEER units typically installed during the early 1990s. For even greater utility savings, we offer equipment rated up to 18 SEER.
What is PURON?
PURON is an environmentally friendly refrigerant used in many refrigeration systems.
What is a 2 Stage Gas Valve?
A 2 Stage gas valve is a valve that meters gas into your furnace and it has two stages; a high stage and a low stage. For more information, please call LCS at (972) 424-2929.
Should I have a Preventative Maintenance Agreement?
Think of your air condition and heating system like a car. You wouldn’t run your car for 10 years without oil changes or inspections. Your heating and cooling system is a machine that needs regular service for a long durable life.
Is it possible to have too big of an Air Conditioning Unit?
An oversized unit will provide cooling faster, but will not remove humidity adequately. Also, if your ductwork isn’t big enough to match the air conditioner the airflow will be too slow and you could freeze the coil, which would make it cease to function at all. Size matters; bigger isn’t always better.
